East-West Transmission Main

Project Details

The East/West Transmission Main was constructed to allow water to be moved from the east side of San Francisco into the Sunset system in the event of a Peninsula pipeline failure or other emergency.

Ranger Pipelines furnished and installed approximately 4 miles of 42″ and 36″ diameter welded steel pipe from Holloway Avenue and Junipero Serra Blvd to Dartmouth and Felton St. Installed butterfly valves, air valves, blow-offs and bypasses. We also relocated an existing water main in Edna St, did jack and bore at two street intersections, installed corrosion protection and all related site work and traffic monitoring and control.
